A credit bearing merSETA registered skills programme offered on a full-time basis over 15 days.
The course is suitable for people or learners within the fabrication and welding fields wanting to achieve relevant Gas Tungsten and Metal Arc Welding skills. Learners will be taught how to select and set up gas tungsten arc welding equipment, weld workpieces and inspect the welded pipes for defects.
The structure of the course focuses on the skills and knowledge required to service, maintain, repair or manufacture a product by using relevant basic welding techniques as well as hand skills for Gas Tungsten and Metal Arc Welding Skills (TIG).
A general Education and Training Certificate at NQF Level 1 or ABET Level 4.
