A credit bearing CETA registered skills programme offered on a full-time basis over 4 weeks.
To train new entrants and experienced construction industry stakeholders, through exposing them to skills such as preparing the work area, selecting and maintaining tools, using appropriate equipment, building and finishing foundation walls and damp proofing. This will enable successful delegates to start their own business in Bricklaying.
Learners accredited with this course will be able to set out, excavate and cast concrete strip foundations, build foundation walls, build door frames as well as install and build window frames.
Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 2.
- Setting out, excavating and casting concrete strip foundations and building foundation walls.
- Preparing the work area and selecting, using and maintaining tools, equipment and materials.
- Building walls, building doorframes, installing and building window frames.
- Marking off, positioning and building roof anchors (tie downs).
- Building ancillary walls to the complete structure.
- Cleaning brickwork and clearing the building site.
