Duration: This qualification is run over 4 weeks
A credit bearing CETA registered skills programme offered on a full-time basis over 4 weeks.
Learners accredited with this course will be able to apply basic health and safety legislation in the workplace, carry out secondary assessment of sick or injured persons and provide appropriate primary emergency care at the scene.
Communication at NQF Level 1 and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.
- Apply basic health and safety legislation in the workplace.
- Demonstrate the principles of primary emergency care.
- Assess and control a single injury emergency scene in the workplace.
- Explain and manage shock.
- Carry out secondary assessment of the sick or injured person and provide appropriate primary emergency care at the scene.
- Keep records of the incident / accident.
Course Content:
US9964 - Apply health and safety to a work area - NQF Level 2 - 3 Credits
US9965 - Provide risk-based primary and emergency car / first aid in the workplace - NQF Level 2 - 5 Credits
US9967 - Erect, use and dismantle access equipment for construction work - NQF Level 3 - 6 Credits
