Type of course:

A credit bearing CETA registered skills programme offered on a full-time basis over 6 weeks.

Course outline:

Learners accredited with this course will be able set out and prepare carpentry work areas, brace and erect site-made and prefabricated roof trusses as well as clad a roof structure.

Entry requirements:

Communication at NQF Level 1 and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.

Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will be proficient in the following areas:

Set out and prepare carpentry work areas.
Set out, brace and erect site-made and prefabricated roof trusses.
Clad a roof structure in accordance with roof plan drawing specifications.
Build, connect, clad and erect timber frame walls and install appropriate insulation

Assessment method:

To monitor progress and effectiveness of learning, continuous assessments (formative) are carried out by way of written tests and practical assignments, throughout the training.
